7 Walkers announced a fall tour with quite a guest list. I'm most looking forward to the Jam Cruise shows with Kimock at the end of the tour. George Porter is booked for 7 full shows plus the 5 night Jam Cruise. Reed Mathis from Tea Leaf Green and Kirk Joseph from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band will play several shows w/ them along the tour as well.

I like 7 Walkers. Their sound is totally unique. Wish they were playing in the NE. Saw them once. They played the last show of the night at a festival. I had been watching music since 11 am and I was in much need of sleep while watching 7 Walkers play till about 3 am I believe. I was too delirious to really remember much but any recordings I heard of them I really enjoy.

What do you guys think of this group?

This is a perfect recording of a good show from The Great American Music Hall in 2010, under Papa Mali's name (I think it was before the name of the band changed to 7 Walkers)

The studio album is worth buying. I remember having difficulty finding a downloadable copy (here in the UK, anyway) but got it in the end via a link on Bill K's website

Good band (Matt Hubbard on keys is superb), good new Robert Hunter lyrics, too.
